sarah & juan | vegas desert editorial | international wedding photographer

so the last couple of weeks have been insanely busy… it was my first time attending the annual wedding & portrait photographers international (wppi) conference in las vegas!  i will definitely dedicate another post to that soon, but in the meantime, i have a very exciting shoot to share with you.  About 2 weeks before we were set to leave for vegas, bethany of images by bethany and i were discussing all of the activities at the conference, and bethany had the greatest idea – why don’t we plan our own editorial photo shoot in the desert?  Yes!  So off we went in search of subjects and vendors to collaborate with and help us bring our vision to life.  Honestly, I’m not sure how it all came together so perfectly… we couldn’t have asked for a better team!  Bethany was able to find us a wonderful engaged couple living in vegas- Sarah & Juan, and also had two beautiful hairpieces custom made for us by Tianna Grey of Tetrik in Vancouver.  I enlisted the help of talented Vancouver designer, Amanda Ventura of Vouture Clothing Co., as well as both the makeup artist and hairstylist in vegas, Megan Mulligan and Shaun Saunders.  Amazing that all of these wonderful people could contribute with such short notice, and with such great results!

Huge thank yous go out to our team for making this shoot possible.  I am so happy with how everything turned out!

in the woods. | vancouver wedding photographer on a breather

Even though I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, sometimes I forget this.  I forget to look around, marvel at the mountains that loom so close, take in the air, stop and just breathe.  To escape the concrete for a while, Kyle and I headed up to visit Leah in Squamish… and although I’ve always loved it up there, this little meander in the woods was exactly what my heart [and lungs!] needed.  Beautiful :)
