duperron fam | vancouver family photographer

so my other post featuring kyle was really just a warm up for this one… introducing the entire duperron family!  it’s not often that this clan is all together in one place, so we thought we’d take a few moments to create some family portraits.  kyle’s sister, leah, was an excellent coordinator for this session – her suggestion of the matching blue shirts worked out great, even if we did attract some comments and strange stares from passers-by!  you’ll also note a certain photo with an odd “totem-pole” arrangement… this is a re-enactment of a few rather uninspired sears portraits that the family had done a few years ago.  the totem pole has now become sort of an inside joke for this family – i love it!  haha.  thanks again to the “dupes” crew for the great visit and good times.

Teegy I like the totem pole! Well, maybe it is a bit of a strange pose, but all of these are great- such nice family memories! I noticed though that poor Leah is covered in scrapes… maybe I don’t want to go mtn biking afterall….

Hey nice Duperron pix, Tegan. I like the totem pole pic & think it would be cool to do one with the whole gang. Big, senior guy on top, of course…
love,

jesslyn & shane | vancouver wedding photographer

wow.  this was the predominant thought that was running through our minds when we arrived at the home of jesslyn’s parents in north vancouver.  what an absolutely stunning venue for this classy, elegant wedding!  with a beautiful sprawling garden, views overlooking the city of vancouver, a huge white tent canopied over the lawn, and a waterfall and pool, bethany and i were plain giddy to be photographing at this home.  as bethany‘s second shooter and assistant, my responsibility was to capture the groom and his men as they were getting ready, cover the wide angles at the ceremony, and photograph the guests as they enjoyed the cocktail hour.  again, i love the freedom that this allows!  congratulations to the lovely bride and groom, and thank you again to the amazing primary photographer for having me there.

summer eve | vancouver portrait photographer

as august seems to be quickly slipping by, i thought i would try to take advantage of this beautiful warm evening light.  with my patient, wonderful boyfriend and stand-in model, kyle, in tow, i ventured down to two of vancouver’s most famous and picturesque beaches, kitsilano and jericho.  nights like these make me feel so lucky to live in this amazing city.  not only is the scenery absolutely gorgeous, but the people you encounter are warmer and smiley-er!  of course, this session wouldn’t be complete without a couple of obligatory self portraits:)  enjoy.

Bethany promo | vancouver portrait photographer

bethany was in need of a few quick headshots for some upcoming promotional material, and i was so excited when she offered to trade photo sessions with me!  (you can see her shot of me here). [edit aug. 31st: full session can now be found on bethany's blog!]  it was definitely a strange experience for us both to be on the other side of the camera, but so important to remember how that feels.  we strolled through the streets of yaletown just as the light was fading, then finished up the evening with a nice refreshing reward!  thank you to my fabulous model for her skills on either side of the camera.

Awwwww so proud of you Teegs! Your pictures are getting more and more amazing every time I look at them! :)

suzanne & ryan | vancouver wedding photographer

This summer has presented me with the fabulous opportunity to be working with Bethany Schiedel of Images by Bethany, and I was lucky enough to second shoot this elegant wedding for her.  I have come to realize that I absolutely adore second shooting… capturing the little details and subtle moments, having a bit of freedom to push myself creatively, and just helping to ensure the primary photographer’s job runs smoothly.  Such a great way to watch and learn more about this amazing craft, as well as the different ways photographers work!  The beautiful grounds of the ubc rose gardens served as the ceremony venue for Suzanne & Ryan’s gorgeous wedding, and the reception took place at cecil green park house.  Bride and groom portraits were taken at spanish banks beach, where the lovely couple braved the sand to create some stunning scenic images.  Huge thank yous to Bethany for having me along and trusting me to catch these photos.

PS. I am trying out a new look for my watermark – a little more subtle and less colour interference… let me know what you think!
